Black and Afro-European communities are fixtures of most European metropolises today.
Their roots often go back decades, sometimes even centuries. The presence of people of at
least partial African ancestry firmly belong to Europe’s history, present and future.
But when, where and how did Black people in Europe begin to organize themselves?
