The Cinéma Africain! Cinéma Africain! engages with social, political, historical, and cultural realities, offering a diverse selection of films that spark dialogue on pressing socio-political issues, while contributing to the richness of Austria’s film landscape. From intimate portraits to socially critical documentaries, the festival provides comprehensive insight into the continent’s varied realities and artistic expressions, delving into themes such as mythology, identity, colonialism, feminism, and coming of age — especially through narratives and perspectives by and about women.
