DJ JYCE talk international DJ career, afrobeats scene, being empowered women in the music industry, working with family and more

On 14 April 2023, Feel Good Mzik brought JYCE to their amazing LOLLIPOP events in Vienna, Austria, for an unforgettable clubbing experience. JYCE performed their DJ set with the latest afrobeats at CALEA Dinner Club for numerous hours and left the crowd with nothing but good vibes and positive energy. On 15 April 2023, freshVibes journalist Beverly met with Joy and Grace to get to know the women behind JYCE on a more personal level and understand the power and magic of JYCE. Only 6 months ago, French-Cameroonian sisters Joy and Grace decided to take a leap of faith and start their professional DJ career as JYCE. Since the beginning of the year, they have traveled to multiple countries around the world and made a big name for themselves. They already performed in France, Senegal, Cyprus, UK, Sweden, Nigeria, Luxembourg, Tanzania; just to name a few – JYCE is ready to take over the world and they are not stopping anytime soon! From their fast-rising DJ career to being in a male-dominated field and making their way as women; JYCE cover everything in the freshVibes interview and leave us wanting more. Joy and Grace also talk about what it is like to follow one’s passion professionally, share insight into the process behind their craft and adapting their music to different audiences around the world, and give advice to young women in the music industry. They also take us behind the scenes and share what the afrobeats scene looks like. You can’t help but notice how close the sisters are, and what family means to them, which is also an important element of the interview: family ties and having a strong support system around you but also within you.
